Jack Hunt Academy Safeguarding Conference Brings Together Students, Parents and Experts
Jack Hunt Academy, part of Keys Academies Trust, successfully hosted its safeguarding conference in Peterborough on Thursday 23 April 2026, welcoming students, parents, carers and staff for a day of learning, discussion and collaboration.
Titled ‘Working in Partnership to Safeguard Our Children, the event reflected the Academy’s continued commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing and strengthening communication between school and home.
During the school day, students took part in a series of presentations focused on key safeguarding themes, helping them to better understand current risks and how to stay safe in today’s environment.
In the evening, parents and staff attended a dedicated session from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, which featured expert speakers, short presentations and a panel discussion. Topics included drug awareness, online safety and risks outside the home.
The evening also included information stalls providing guidance and support on mental health, safeguarding and wellbeing, alongside the opportunity for attendees to ask questions directly to a panel of professionals.
Kerry Cliffe, Safeguarding Lead at Jack Hunt Academy, said: “Keeping up to date on the risks that are around young people and hearing advice from professionals with the most up-to-date information was of utmost importance to us at Jack Hunt Academy.”
She added: “As both a parent and Safeguarding Lead, I have found that knowledge is key and helped us better understand some of the dilemmas our young people face in the current climate. Working together and supporting each other was essential in keeping our communities safe.”
The Academy thanked all speakers, staff, parents and students who contributed to the success of the event.
Further safeguarding information remains available via the school website and through the pastoral and safeguarding teams.
