Jack Hunt Academy Celebrated 17 Years of Unity and Culture at Diversity Day 2026

Jack Hunt Academy in Peterborough, part of Keys Academies Trust, marked the 17th anniversary of its much-loved Diversity Day, a celebration that continues to grow in meaning and impact.

Originally launched as Language and Culture Day, the event has evolved into a vibrant showcase of the rich cultures, identities and perspectives that shape the school community.

With around 110 student participants and 27 cultural and thematic stalls, the school came alive with colour, creativity, and connection. Visitors engaged in a lively programme of performances from around the world, a much-anticipated cultural fashion show, staff dressed in traditional attire, and a specially curated global menu in the school canteen.

Diversity Day remains a cornerstone of the school’s ethos and a dedicated moment to celebrate difference, encourage understanding, and foster a genuine sense of belonging across the community.

Headteacher Mr Jon Hebblethwaite said: “Jack Hunt Academy takes great pride in its diverse community. It is a privilege to celebrate the many cultures that enrich our school, and Diversity Day is always a highlight of the year.”

Ms Sidra Hussain, Internationalism Coordinator, added: “This year marked an important milestone in our Diversity Day journey. While maintaining our core values, we created a more focused and immersive experience. The enthusiasm from both students and staff has been incredible, and we’re excited to bring an even wider range of cultural experiences to life.”

Looking beyond Peterborough, the spirit of Diversity Day was shared globally through the school’s international partnerships.

Diversity Day continues to play a vital role in promoting inclusion, empathy, and respect values that sit at the heart of both Jack Hunt Academy and Keys Academies Trust.

By celebrating cultures and perspectives from around the world, students are better prepared to thrive in an increasingly interconnected society.

The school extends its sincere thanks to all staff, past and present, whose dedication and creativity have helped Diversity Day flourish over the past 17 years.
