NEW HEAD TEACHER APPOINTED AT THORPE PRIMARY ACADEMY
Thorpe Primary Academy, part of Keys Academies Trust, has announced the appointment of Mrs Nikki Lamond as its new Head Teacher.
Mrs Lamond brings almost 30 years of experience in education, including more than 25 years in senior leadership and nearly two decades as a Head Teacher.
She joins Thorpe Primary Academy after spending a year as Interim Headteacher at Woodston Primary School. Before that, she held headteacher and executive headteacher positions in Corby.
The appointment marks a return to familiar surroundings for Mrs Lamond who lives locally and began her teaching career in Peterborough almost 30 years ago.
Mrs Lamond said: “Thorpe Primary Academy immediately struck me as a warm and welcoming school. I was particularly impressed by the children and am delighted to be joining an academy where colleagues work closely together, supported by a small and collaborative Trust.
“I am most looking forward to getting to know the children and their families and working alongside colleagues, both within the school and across Keys Academies Trust.
“My priority is to ensure that every child is known as an individual and challenged to achieve their full potential through high expectations and a rich, enjoyable curriculum.”
Mrs Lamond has taught across the primary age range and has extensive experience of leading and supporting primary schools.
She added: “Having started my career in Peterborough and now living close to the school, I feel a strong connection to the local area. It is a privilege to be joining the Thorpe community, and I am excited about working with pupils, families and staff as we begin this next chapter together.”
Mr David Atter, CEO of Keys Academies Trust said: “We are delighted to welcome Mrs Lamond to Thorpe Primary Academy. Her considerable leadership experience, approachable manner and commitment to helping every child fulfil their potential make her an excellent appointment. We look forward to supporting her as she works with the school community to build up Thorpe’s strengths and lead the academy into its next chapter.”
